SLC6A2 (Solute Carrier Family 6 Member 2) is a protein that functions as the noradrenaline transporter, responsible for the reuptake of noradrenaline into presynaptic nerve terminals. This transporter plays a key role in regulating mood, alertness, and stress response. It is also a target for certain antidepressant medications. Dysfunctions in SLC6A2 are associated with psychiatric and neurological conditions such as depression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
