• Nasal congestion or sneezing
• Wheezing or shortness of breath
• Anaphylaxis in severe cases

Cross-reactivity with strawberries is not as common as with other food allergies. However, individuals with strawberry allergies might also react to:

• Other berries such as raspberries and blackberries
• Some fruits like cherries and grapes
• Rarely, individuals with birch pollen allergy may have cross-reactive symptoms with strawberries due to Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS).

• If you experience allergic symptoms after eating strawberries.
• If you have a history of other fruit allergies and suspect a reaction to strawberries.
• If a child exhibits allergic reactions after consuming strawberries, especially if there’s a family history of allergies.

• Avoid strawberries and products containing strawberries, including jams, desserts, and flavorings.

• Over-the-counter antihistamines may help with mild reactions.
• Carry an epinephrine auto-injector if prescribed for severe allergies.
