TFPI2 (Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor 2): TFPI2 is a measure that reflects the activity of a key regulator in the coagulation system. TFPI2 acts as a potent inhibitor of the tissue factor (TF)-mediated blood coagulation pathway, helping to maintain haemostatic balance by preventing excessive clotting and modulating fibrinolysis. Found in the extracellular matrix (ECM), TFPI2 also contributes to cell migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis, supporting tissue repair and remodelling. Abnormal TFPI2 expression has been linked to various pathological conditions, including cancer, where it may function as a tumour suppressor.
