VEGFC (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C): VEGFC is a protein that plays a crucial role in lymphangiogenesis, the formation of lymphatic vessels, and angiogenesis, the formation of blood vessels. As a member of the VEGF family, it contributes to processes such as embryonic development, tissue repair, and tumour progression. VEGFC stimulates the growth and proliferation of lymphatic endothelial cells, promoting lymphatic vessel formation and remodelling. It primarily functions by binding to and activating VEGFR-3 (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3).
