Advanced Fertility Test: Insight into Reproductive Health for Family Planning
The Advanced Fertility Test by GetTested measures a range of vital markers that could influence your ability to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy. The markers included in this test are fT3, fT4, TSH, FSH, Oestradiol and Progesterone.
Understanding the Importance of Each Parameter for Fertility Issues
fT3 (Free Triiodothyronine):
It measures the levels of free triiodothyronine, another essential thyroid hormone that, alongside FT4, is crucial in regulating the body’s energy and metabolism.
fT4 (Free Thyroxine):
FT4 represents the portion of thyroid hormone that circulates freely in the bloodstream. Thyroid health is closely linked to reproductive health, and FT4 levels can influence fertility. Proper thyroid function is crucial for regulating menstrual cycles and ovulation.
TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone):
TSH is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, and it plays a vital role in regulating the thyroid gland’s activity. Monitoring TSH levels is important for assessing thyroid function, as thyroid imbalances can affect fertility and reproductive health.
FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone):
FSH is a hormone responsible for the growth and development of ovarian follicles in women and the production of sperm in men. In women, tracking FSH levels can provide insights into ovarian reserve and potential fertility issues.
Oestradiol, the primary estrogen hormone, plays a central role in the female reproductive system. Monitoring oestradiol levels is crucial for evaluating the menstrual cycle, ovulation, and overall fertility.
Progesterone is a hormone vital for supporting early pregnancy and preparing the uterus for implantation. Tracking progesterone levels is essential for understanding ovulation and assessing the likelihood of successful conception and pregnancy.
