Vitamins Profile Test: Overview of Key Nutritional Markers

The Vitamins Profile Test offers a detailed analysis of three fundamental vitamins: Vit D (25 OH), Vitamin B12, and Vitamin B9 (Folate). Each vitamin holds significance in sustaining overall health. By evaluating these vitamin levels, the test provides insights into your nutritional status, aiding in informed health decisions.

Understanding the Importance of Each Parameter

Vit D (25 OH):
Vitamin D is a vital nutrient that plays multiple roles in the body. It is crucial for bone health, as it helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D also plays a role in supporting the immune system and maintaining proper muscle function. Monitoring your Vit D (25 OH) levels can help assess your body’s vitamin D status and prevent potential deficiencies, which can lead to weak bones, compromised immunity, and other health issues.

Vitamin B12:
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is essential for various bodily functions, including red blood cell production, neurological health, and DNA synthesis. Adequate vitamin B12 levels are vital for maintaining energy levels, cognitive function, and overall vitality. Monitoring your Vitamin B12 levels can help identify potential deficiencies, which may lead to anemia, fatigue, and nerve-related symptoms.

Vitamin B9 (Folate):
Vitamin B9, commonly known as folate or folic acid, is crucial for cell division and DNA synthesis. It is especially important during periods of rapid growth, such as pregnancy. Adequate folate levels are essential for supporting fetal development, preventing neural tube defects in newborns, and maintaining overall health. Monitoring your Vitamin B9 levels can help ensure proper cellular function and support your overall well-being.

Instructions

Before taking the test

  • Your test ID must be registered before it is sent for analysis (otherwise the lab will not analyze the test).
  • Please note that yhis test requires that two vials of blood be filled; one with yellow lid and one with purple lid.
  • We recommend that you take the test on an empty stomach in the morning.
  • We recommend that you submit the test for analysis on a Monday or Tuesday.
  • If tracking code is available, please attach it to the front of the envelope (found on your test ID card).
  • Before you start, you need to register your test. Your test kit contains a sticker with your unique test ID. Register your test ID at my.gettested.io.
  • Wash your hands in hot water for about a minute. This will increase blood circulation in your fingers. Dry your hands. Doing a blood test without stimulating blood circulation might prove difficult, so please do not skip this step.
  • Disinfect your “test finger” with the supplied disinfectant paper. Wait a few seconds until the finger is completely dry.
  • Rotate the protective cover on the blood lancet to remove it. Use the extra lancet if you need to do another finger prick.
  • Place your hand on a flat surface. Put the lancet diagonally toward the test finger and press down the button. Make sure the lancet is pressed against the finger the whole time.
  • We recommend that you stand up at this stage to let the blood in your arm flow downward. Help the blood drops come out by massaging the finger toward the needle stick.
  • Transfer the blood drops into the test tube until the blood reaches the marked line. If it doesn’t reach the marked line, there won’t be enough blood for the lab to test. Please contact us if you have any trouble.
  • Place the sticker with your unique test ID on the test tube. Place the test tube inside the transport tube and seal. Please make sure you fill both vials.
  • Put the tubes in the enclosed envelope and send it to the lab the same day, preferably a Monday or Tuesday.

I’ve always been proactive about my health, often diving deep into research about balanced diets and nutritional needs. But reading about it and knowing your personal status are two different things. That’s why I decided to go for the Vitamins Profile Test. The kit was a comprehensive package. It was delivered promptly, and the instructions were crystal clear. I followed them and sent my sample without any glitches. The wait for the results was filled with anticipation. When they finally arrived, they were detailed and easily decipherable. I learned that while I was doing well in terms of some vitamins, I was falling short on others like Vitamin B12 and E. This was surprising and drove home the point that despite all our efforts, we might still miss out on crucial nutrients. Armed with this information, I made changes to my diet and added some targeted supplements. The difference has been palpable. My sleep has improved, my energy levels are stable, and I feel better overall. The Vitamins Profile Test was an invaluable investment in my health. 🙂

Modern life, with its hustle and bustle, can sometimes make it difficult for us to ensure we’re getting all the essential nutrients our bodies need. That was certainly the case for me. Between work, managing a household, and finding ‘me’ time, ensuring I had a balanced diet was often overlooked. Enter the Vitamins Profile Test by GetTested. The kit was delivered promptly with instructions that left no room for error. I particularly appreciated the comprehensive nature of this test—it didn’t just focus on one or two vitamins but gave an overview of several vital ones. Sending my sample back was a breeze with the provided return envelope. The results were eye-opening. It turns out; I wasn’t just deficient in Vitamin D, as I had suspected, but also in a few B vitamins. The comprehensive report didn’t just present the results but also provided insights into what these vitamins are responsible for and what I could do to improve my levels.

Now, after a few months of tweaking my diet and incorporating specific supplements, I can’t begin to describe the improvements. My energy levels are consistent, the constant brain fog is gone, and I genuinely feel in sync with my body. I owe this newfound wellness to the Vitamins Profile Test.
