Understanding CRP and Inflammation

When your body fights injury, infection, or inflammation, it produces C-reactive protein (CRP). The liver makes this substance, and doctors use it to track inflammation. If CRP levels rise, it often points to infection or other health issues. With GetTested's CRP Rapid Test, checking your CRP levels is straightforward and fast.

GetTested's Quick CRP Detection

The CRP Rapid Test Kit is simple and user-friendly. It uses gold-conjugated antibodies to measure CRP levels in your blood, providing reliable results in minutes.

What's in the Box?

Your test kit includes all you need for the test, except for a cotton swab and a timer. These common household items will help you complete the test.

Testing Made Easy

Just a small blood sample from a finger prick is enough. After mixing your blood with the provided diluent on the test cassette, you'll soon see the results.

Going Deeper with hs-CRP

Interested in a deeper dive into your health? GetTested also offers a lab-analyzed test for hs-CRP, which can indicate subtle, long-term inflammation risks related to heart health.

By choosing GetTested's CRP Rapid Test, you're taking a crucial step towards staying informed about your health. Quick, easy, and precise, this test is an excellent choice for anyone keeping a close eye on their well-being.

FAQ

How is the CRP test carried out?

Our CRP test is a home test kit with instant results. After ordering, we will send you a kit with everything you need to perform the test yourself. Results are obtained within a few minutes.

What will the result tell me?

Negative: CRP is below 10 mg/L and suggests the absence of infection and inflammation. Positive between 10 - 40 mg/L: may be associated with a viral infection or the onset of a bacterial infection. Positive between 40 - 80 mg/L: may be associated with a viral or bacterial infection or physical trauma. Positive above 80 mg/L: may be associated with a bacterial infection or severe inflammation.

Can I trust the test result?

The result is correct as long as the instructions are carefully followed and the test is stored under the conditions listed in the „Precautions“ section. However, the result may not be correct if: the device comes into contact with other liquids before being used, if the amount of blood and/or diluent is not enough, if the number of drops dispensed in the well is incorrect or if the reading times are not strictly followed. The supplied plastic pipette allows users to be sure they have collected the right amount of blood.

How accurate is the CRP test?

The CRP test showed high concordance with analytical reference methods, with 97% accuracy in distinguishing between normal (< 10 mg/L) and abnormal values.

How does the CRP test work?

The test detects the presence of CRP in human whole blood samples using specific antibodies and colloidal gold particles embedded in the test strip.

When can the CRP test be used?

The CRP TEST may be used in the case of infection or inflammation symptoms such as fever, headache or weakness, or to monitor the healing process following surgery and minor injuries. The test can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of a therapeutic treatment and can be performed at any time of the day.
