About the GetTested Alcohol Test
The GetTested Alcohol Test is a quick and easy rapid test designed to measure blood alcohol concentration (BAC) through a saliva sample. It is well-established that alcohol concentration in saliva closely mirrors that in the blood, making this test a reliable tool for approximating your BAC. The test works through a specific enzymatic reaction that causes a color change depending on the level of alcohol present.
How to Use the Test – Step-by-Step
To ensure accurate results with the Alcohol Test, follow these steps:
- Preparation: Remove the plastic device from the sealed pouch and place it on a flat surface.
- Apply Saliva: Place the reaction pad in contact with your saliva and wait 3-5 minutes for the results.
- Interpreting Results: After 3-5 minutes, the reaction pad will change color based on the alcohol concentration in your blood. Use the color chart on the foil packaging to compare and estimate your relative BAC.
Understanding Your Test Results
- Positive: A color change on the reaction pad indicates the presence of alcohol in the saliva. The color scale ranges from light blue at 0.02% to dark blue at 0.30% relative BAC.
- Negative: If no color change occurs, the test indicates that no alcohol is present in the saliva.
- Invalid: If the test does not function as expected (e.g., if the pad does not change color at all), the result may be invalid, and the test should not be used.
The Importance of Correct Usage
It is essential to use the GetTested Alcohol Test accurately to obtain reliable results. The test can detect alcohol concentrations ranging from 0.02% to 0.30%, providing a precise indication of your BAC. The test is sensitive to different types of alcohol (methyl, ethyl, and allyl alcohols) but is generally not affected by other substances found in saliva.
The product is CE-marked and complies with European safety standards for professional use.
