Alcohol Test from GetTested – For Home Use

About GetTested’s Alcohol Test

GetTested’s Alcohol Test is a home testing kit used to detect the presence of alcohol in urine and estimate blood alcohol concentration with high sensitivity. You can interpret the test visually by comparing the color change to an included color chart.

Using the Test Step-by-Step

To ensure accurate results with the Alcohol Test, follow these steps:

  1. First, open the sealed pouch and take out the test cassette. Use the cassette within an hour, ensuring the reaction pad is not blue before use.
  2. Place the cassette on a flat surface. Use the pipette to carefully drop 3 full drops of urine (about 120 μl) into the sample well and start the timer. Avoid air bubbles.
  3. After 3-5 minutes, compare the reaction pad’s color with the color chart. This comparison helps you assess the alcohol concentration.

Understanding the Test Results

  • Positive: A color change to any of the colors on the chart - 0%, 0.02%, 0.04%, 0.08%, or 0.30% - indicates alcohol in the urine. The intensity of the color gives an estimate of the blood alcohol concentration.
  • Negative: If no color change occurs, it means no alcohol is detected.
  • Invalid: If the reaction pad shows a blue color before applying the urine sample, the test is invalid and should not be used.

The Importance of Correct Use

It is crucial to perform the GetTested Alcohol Test carefully for reliable results. The test can detect even very low levels of alcohol. Therefore, interpret a lighter color than 0.02% on the color chart as a positive result, indicating the presence of alcohol even if the concentration is below 0.02%.
