Biomarkers included – 8 in 1 STI Test Kit
- Gardnerella: Gardnerella, specifically Gardnerella vaginalis, is a type of bacteria that is commonly found in the vaginal microbiome. While it is a normal part of vaginal flora, an imbalance can lead to overgrowth, resulting in bacterial vaginosis (BV), a common vaginal infection. It is not classified as a traditional sexually transmitted infection (STI), but its presence and growth can be influenced by sexual
- Mycoplasma (MH): Mycoplasma, particularly Mycoplasma hominis (MH), is a type of bacteria that can be transmitted through sexual contact, though it is not strictly classified as a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It is one of several Mycoplasma species that affect humans and can inhabit the genital and respiratory tracts. While often asymptomatic, it can cause health issues, particularly in the genitourinary s
- Ureaplasma urealyticum: Ureaplasma is a group of tiny bacteria commonly found in the urogenital tracts of both men and women. They are part of the normal genital flora but can cause infection under certain conditions. Ureaplasma species, particularly Ureaplasma urealyticum and Ureaplasma parvum, are associated with conditions such as urethritis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and infertility. While they can be sexual
- Gonorrhea: Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It affects both men and women, though symptoms are more frequently seen in women. This infection can lead to irritation and increase the risk of contracting other STIs, including HIV.
- Mycoplasma genitalium: Mycoplasma genitalium is a specialized bacterium that acts as a common cause of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), often resulting in inflammation of the urinary or reproductive tracts. Identifying this biomarker is crucial because it is frequently asymptomatic and has developed significant resistance to standard antibiotics, requiring targeted treatment to prevent long-term complications lik
- Candida albicans: Candida albicans is a type of yeast that can affect different parts of the body, most commonly causing vaginal yeast infections and gut overgrowth. Vaginal infections lead to itching, discomfort, and discharge, often resulting from an imbalance in natural flora. In the gut, overgrowth of Candida albicans can disrupt digestion, leading to bloating and changes in bowel habits. Factors such as diet,
- Chlamydia: Chlamydia trachomatis is the bacterium that causes chlamydia, one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. It can affect both men and women and may be present without noticeable symptoms. Chlamydia can affect the urinary and reproductive tract. When symptoms occur, they may include burning during urination, unusual discharge, pelvic discomfort or genital irritation. Because many infecti
